Every composer has a story. Mine started at a piano in Herberhausen, a small village near Göttingen, Germany, at the age of six.

I was lucky. My piano teacher recognized early on that I was a little different. Sheet music and pre-written pieces didn't hold my attention for long – what I wanted was to sit down, sink deep into the keys, and play what moved me. Rather than forcing me into a mold, he gave me the space to explore. Looking back, that decision changed everything.

Heidelberg, an Internship and a Band

By the time I was 14, I had moved to Heidelberg. A year later, I enrolled in a music boarding school where I stayed until I was 17 – deepening my musical knowledge, getting my hands on a small rehearsal room and playing in an amateur band for the first time.

It was a formative period. Not because of any single breakthrough, but because of the daily immersion – surrounded by music, musicians and the relentless curiosity that comes with being young and hungry to learn.

Around this time I also discovered electronic music production. The ability to build entire sonic worlds from scratch, layer by layer, fascinated me in a way that nothing else had before.

But something was still missing.

The Moment Everything Changed

At 18, I discovered orchestral music – and suddenly I understood what my electronic productions had been lacking. The warmth of strings, the weight of brass, the intimacy of a solo piano sitting inside a vast arrangement.

I knew immediately: these two worlds had to come together.

That fusion – electronic music meets orchestral composition – became my signature sound. It's the foundation of everything ARK & HECKER creates to this day.

Finding Home in Mannheim

In 2019, I moved to Mannheim. It wasn't a random choice – I already had connections there, and from the first time I visited, the city had felt like home. The creative energy, the harbor, the people. Something about Mannheim just fit.

Two years later, in 2021, I founded ARK & HECKER GmbH right in the heart of the Mannheim harbor. The vision was clear: build a music production company that operates at the highest international level, rooted in the city that adopted me.

From Mannheim to the World

What followed has been a journey I could hardly have imagined as a six-year-old in Herberhausen.

Music I composed found its way into productions for Netflix, Riot Games and League of Legends, The Walking Dead, Discovery Channel, Moonhaven, Young Rock, Fantastic Beasts, The Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Monster Hunter and many more.

From TV series to film trailers, from game soundtracks to corporate productions for brands like Microsoft, Cadillac and ImmobilienScout24 – each project brought new creative challenges and new opportunities to push the boundaries of what music can achieve.

What Drives Me

People sometimes ask what it feels like to hear my music in a Netflix production or a global game title. Honestly? It never gets old.

But what drives me isn't the credits. It's the moment in the studio when a piece of music suddenly clicks – when the strings swell at exactly the right moment, when the bass hits and you feel it in your chest, when a melody says something that words never could.

That's why I do this.

What's Next?

ARK & HECKER continues to grow. New productions, new collaborations, new sonic worlds to explore.

If you're working on a project that needs music with real emotional weight – whether it's a film trailer, a game, a TV series or a brand film – I'd love to hear from you.
